MY FIRST DAY IN SINGAPORE
Welcome to Singapore!A paradise for shopaholics, a dreamplace for residing and a convenient place for professionals.
After hearing all talks from everybody I landed in Singapore on 14th August with my hubby for a longterm stay.Struggling for a month to get my belongings fit into the 100kg specified luggage by the Singapore airlines, it was such a relief that I was able to carry what I wished(I was having nightmares for some time that airlines wont allow to carry certain things dear to me)
A pleasant weather welcomed us....
Greenery around, good transport system, no pollution,no crowds, various source of entertainments, flexible timings of offices(nobody works beyond six here),why anybody will refuse to reside here.
Do I miss India?Certainly I miss my near and dear ones and there is no substitute for them. Being 8% population Indian here you can find many Indians around. What I wished was wish to interact with each other.Everybody appeared so busy with themselves they rarely passed smile to each other. The other day was Independence day.I wished to wish other Indians, but nobody appeared interested. This was very strange to my previous experience in Taipei and Tokyo where the mere sight of any Indian brings a smile and series of interactions.
After going around the place the first look made me feel the Indian presence around. Street markets, polythene bags, some shops resembling agarwal kirana shop known as wet and dry market here.Little India which is just like mini India is very approachable. And if you have been to mustafa centre then you will never miss India here, because here you will get all those things with Indian feeling like pickles. The mere smell of groceries and other things give you the feel of being in big bazaar store.
Transport system is very good but you have to walk a lot to approach it, so start enjoying walking if you want to reside here.I am happy about it as it will help me to keep myself in shape!
